Our Priorities

At the Canadian National Council of Hindus (CNCH), we are committed to addressing the needs and aspirations of the 1.4 million strong Hindu Canadian community through focused action on key priorities:

Political Participation and Representation

CNCH actively encourages Hindu Canadians to participate in the democratic process by running for elected positions such as Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs), Mayors, City Councillors, and School Board Trustees. Ensuring strong political representation is vital for advancing the needs, values, and priorities of the Hindu community at all levels of government.

Human Rights and Social Justice

CNCH works to safeguard Hindu Canadians from discrimination, hate crimes, and extremism. We collaborate with law enforcement, legal experts, and policymakers to promote policies that protect religious freedoms and combat anti-Hindu sentiment.

Youth Empowerment and Leadership Development

We support youth leadership by establishing Hindu campus clubs, offering mentorship programs, and organizing leadership boot camps to inspire the next generation of Hindu leaders in politics, business, and community service.

Religious Freedom and Pluralism

CNCH advocates for the recognition of Hindu religious needs, such as accommodations for festivals, prayer spaces, and cultural practices, while promoting pluralism rooted in the Hindu value of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family.

Combating Misinformation

We tackle false narratives and promote accurate understanding of Hindu contributions to Canadian society through media advocacy, educational campaigns, and fact-based resources.

Cultural and Community Engagement

CNCH celebrates Hindu culture through large-scale festivals, workshops, and community programs, fostering cross-cultural understanding and pride in Hindu heritage.

Legal Task Force

Our Legal Task Force provides vital support to combat discrimination, hate crimes, and misinformation. We partner with Hindu legal experts and allied lawyers to advance litigation, protect religious rights, and provide pro bono legal services to individuals and institutions.

Combating Discrimination

We work to address systemic discrimination against Hindu Canadians by advocating for legal reforms and supporting cases that challenge discriminatory practices.

Fighting Hate Crimes

Our team collaborates with law enforcement and legal professionals to ensure that hate crimes targeting Hindu communities are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Countering Misinformation

We tackle false narratives and misinformation through legal advocacy, media campaigns, and educational initiatives to promote accurate understanding of Hindu contributions to Canadian society.

Pro Bono Legal Services

CNCH provides free legal assistance to individuals and institutions facing legal challenges related to religious freedom, discrimination, or hate crimes.
